BHUBANESWAR: Even without site selection for the proposed medical college, the governing council of the Keonjhar District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Trust has sanctioned `50 crore for the college.
The governing council is reported to have decided to provide financial assistance of `200 crore to the Government medical college which will be set up at an estimated cost of `500 crore. The DMF contribution will be made in four years.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced that a Government medical college would be set up in Keonjhar during his visit to the district in March.
With a deposit of about `300 crore in the DMF, the Trust Board has approved development projects worth `280 crore for the mineral rich district which is seriously lacking in the social infrastructure front. Read More
