Join us in raising awareness on the tax abuses by extractive corporations and illicit financial flows from extractive activities as we hold the Global Day of Action for Tax Justice in the Extractive Industry on 19 November 2020. Amidst the pandemic, extractive corporations continue to thrive and profit at the expense of the people and the planet. Yet, they remain a fertile ground for tax abuses and illicit financial flows. On 19 November, we once again raise the call, “Stop tax dodging and plundering!”

To participate in the Global Day of Action, check out the attached Call to Action. Here are some things that you can do:

  • Circulate the statement we will release on 19 November.
  • Join our social media photo action. Hold a “Stop tax dodging and plundering!” placard, on one hand, do the “stop” pose, take a photo and share it on your social media. See the attached photo for a sample. Tag the Global Alliance for Tax Justice on FacebookTwitter, or Instagram. Also use the hashtags, #TaxJustice and #StopTaxDodging&Plundering. Printable placards are available here. Handwritten slogans in your local languages are encouraged, too!
  • Promote your existing resources on tax justice in the extractives. Share with us your publications and we will be happy to promote them during the Global Day of Action. Resources can be useful and relevant to movements on the ground.
  • Repost the social media materials that we will release on the Global Day of Action. You can also share the campaign visual material materials that will progressively be added in this folder
