Over one crore unorganised workers have registered themselves at e-Shram portal, the labour ministry said on Sunday.
More than 1 crore unorganised workers registered at e-Shram portal, which is India’s first national database on unorganised workers, the ministry said in a statement. The drive to facilitate registration of migrant workers at e-Shram portal received huge attention since its launch on August 26, 2021, it added.
In almost 24 days, over 1 crore workers have registered at the portal, according to the statement.
This is the first-ever concentrated step towards generating a comprehensive database of the unorganised workers from different sectors like construction, apparel manufacturing, fishing, gig and platform work, street vending, domestic work, agriculture and allied, transport sector and so on.
