New Delhi, Jun 13 (EFE).- At least 17 workers were injured on Tuesday by a steam leak in a factory of the Tata Steel company in eastern India, the multinational firm said in a statement.

Some 17-18 workers at the Tata Steel plant in the town of Dhenkanal in the state of Odisha were injured, the firm’s director of regulatory compliance in the region, Pritam Swain, told EFE from the scene of the accident.

“The accident occurred around 1:00pm (IST) today during the course of the inspection work and has affected few people working at the site, who were immediately shifted to the Occupational Health Centre inside the plant premises and then to (the city of) Cuttack for further treatment,” the statement said.
